Ready, Set, Jet!

Hi All! Hope your having a wonderful weekend! It finally turned off cooler here. :D Date on Saturday- roamed around Texas, did some errands, went out to eat, listened to some music and waited for the cooler weather. Friday was madness @ home with both plumbing and a/c problems at home. I was sooo ready for a break. :X Guess where we ate? And somehow while poking buttons on the trusty iphone ended up turning 4square on to tweet! :o I got bored and stopped checking in last night (aren't you glad). But was asked a question about Geronimo (it really is a town in Texas) & wondered how they knew I was just there? WTF?! And then checked my feed. #Fail :( I was up most of the night roaming around, but it was quite fun. I miss this when I'm in France. Now it's rainy and cooler and I have a date with my pillow. :) Catch you later- Hey,
Whats up? I snuck off to watch this movie the other night. (No, forgot to post on #GetGlue) I thought it would be funny and I was not disappointed. It was slightly different than the normal lame sitcom plot & people were laughing out loud in the audience. So need a date night movie or ? Go see it. (Goes to Getglue now and logs in, excuse me.) OK am back. There Get Glue is happy and it shows I am still alive out here, somewhere. More later ---- Don't forget stargazing is a great 2nd date! imagine: Lawn chairs (or a blanket) a little coffee (or wine) & your honey at night, all alone looking at the stars..together. Sounds good, huh? So start looking for the ideal spot now, because August is right around the corner.. Oh & this picture came from tumblr - I actually always mark the celestial events on my calendar @ the beginning of the year. I plan my trips around the meteor showers :D yes, really. I do spend a lot of time looking up. (read the St Gervais post - watched in the Alps! Best location ever!) Ok, I must sleep NOW. :( I promise a real, proper post in the morning. See you then -
Random Palm Trees on a Random Weekend.
Hey, Hows it going? Busy as F&*^ here. Went shopping, had my hair cut at a new salon, went out to eat about 100 times, went on a date, went dancing, & went shopping again. And it was SUPER HOT.. I went to Seguin, Texas to get my hair done for a change. I usually drive into San Antonio but I was pushed for time. Sequin is a town of about 25,900 (before the oil boom) It looks nice and shady in those pictures but it was really hot. Sorry its blurry. I was stopped at a traffic light. It's 106'F I am not getting out of the truck to take pictures, even for here. Oh and it's pronounced "Pah-con" in South Texas not Pee-can. Since I was early I went to grab a quick bite. Did you know we had nice palm trees like that? After the hair cut I went on to the supermarket in Seguin and it was jam packed with people. We walked around Gruene and did a little shopping. But it was still too warm & I was tired. So then we headed home & I saw this SUPER SIZED BUC-EE'S my customers at work had been telling me about. So we stopped for coffee and to explore it. OMG it is so big & full of, well all kind of stuff. Doesn't everyone go to a Truck stop/Texas Market on a date? lol. Anyway it was really big and crazy full of stuff and people. (He asked me if I wanted a T-shirt. I just looked at him, WTH!?) I took more pictures...but didn't want this post to just be about Buc-ee's. It's big enough it deserves it's own post. WTF!? We have one (not this big but still crazy sized) about 15 miles from our town and we take our out of state/country visitors there so they can buy Texas T-shirts and be amazed at the price of a BBQ pit. Ms. Y always says she going to do her Christmas shopping there..but never does. hee hee Anyway, A little more loot came in this weekend. I was pleased with all these tanks. (All from Ideeli & ALL ON MEGA SALE) OK, that's it for now. I have a brunch date (Tacos, lol) and then fun stuff like laundry and repotting plants. I have been so busy I've not been cooking much. See my basil is blooming :( Ending with this because it is soooo true. Ok, well hope your weekend is going well and you are exploring your area. I'm in Austin, TX for a week in Aug and Vegas in Sept. I think I will go to the Grand Canyon again while I am that close. I haven't been in years. (Not that I think it has changed much, lol)
Anyway, more later- Hi All- Went to the cinema last night w/Rick. We watched The Lone Ranger and ate at Mamacitas. The movie was good. Lots of action, just enough humor and well Johnny Depp. So go see it.. I know we will buy it when it comes out on BR. All the little kids/pre teens were watching Despicable Me 2 so that was really nice! It was a older crowd, with no babies crying or kids running around screaming and throwing stuff. Mostly couples & teens on dates. We usually don't go on the weekend because the last few years the kids have gotten WILD & totally out of control. I mean so wild that no one can enjoy the movie. PEOPLE, do not drop your children off at the movie. DO NOT DO IT. Ok, rant over. Movie was good, venue was acceptable and dinner afterwards was awesome! As I said before it is always FREEZING inside there :X Actually I quite like the purse, though. It's brighter than I usually carry & I guess I need a change now and again. And as we were driving into town the sun was going down.... Before we headed out I spent most of the day (despite working) messing around with this blog page. I added A Live Feed Widget to the website..It shows who is on the page and were they are from. (or is supposed to) Do you think its creepy? I kind of do, but then again I kind of need to know if anyone other than Rick is reading my blog. :(
I'm getting quite a few hits but no comments... So anyway, after screwing with it ALL DAY....I deleted it. I don't know why but I could not get the code right..at all. #FML :( So oh well...Someone is just going to have to comment! Talk soon- Hey, How's it going? Mayhem here! :X No, it's really not THAT BAD. It's just I can't find my desk for all the paperwork on it and Rick blew back into town. My early Birthday/Vegas shopping continues & some of my parcels are starting to drift in. Can't wait to sort them, there were so many GOOD sales. I just need the time to try everything on and check recpts, etc. Time, hahaha And speaking of Loot-I guess- Rick brought me this from his trip to Cali. Because he thinks I'm a biker? Why he didn't get me a cute tank top or something leather? I don't know. Men?!?! I don't want to seem ungrateful, but sometimes I don't know what he is thinking?! Does this happen to other people or is it just me?? Anyway, we are going to the cinema tonight to see "The Lone Ranger". I understand it tanked and the critics hated it. Well, since they usually have no idea what people want to see I figure it should be great, plus its Johnny Depp, so get real. I'd pay to watch him brush his teeth #truestory (Bonus if he's shirtless. :0) It's also raining! Like 1st time in 2 months maybe? So it will not be as hot! :) It's always freezing in the cinema and usually you have on shorts and need to bring a blanket. How crazy is that? He was giving me the evil eye and staring at me till I pulled out my phone, lol. Then OMG Shy.. * ___ * My Short Road Trip- I am sorting pictures & going through some of my old notebooks and journals. I took a short road trip this last week, so hope to edit and post those pictures one day soon. I think this is REALLY too much paper to be packing around with me. Ok, I'm going back to work now. Hope you have a FAB week!
Catch you later! The Best Dating TipsDating, umm sometimes it’s GREAT other times….. Well, not Some of the best dates I have ever experienced were not that OVER the TOP, but did show there was some effort put into it. For 1st dates I really like dinner or coffee. It’s all about being comfortable for the 1st date. So something short, because let’s be honest we can usually tell within the 1st 10 minutes (sometimes a lot less) if this is someone you want to hang out with. BEST BET for 1st date = Meet for Coffee/tea (not booze) and chatting. I like to see how he treats the waitress, how much time he stares at me and if he turns his phone off. If all goes well, maybe a movie or dancing after, but I never commit till I can see how it goes 1st. Being trapped in a bad 1st date is like being in HELL. It always amazes me how different people can act when they are trying to “impress” & when they are themselves…But anyway lets say it went well. What to do on the NEXT date?? So Ok that went well. You even went to a movie after and all is still going nicely. What to do next? ??? Dinner and dancing- always good, but if you want to try something more or want to mix up your dating routine here are a few suggestions. I also tried to keep in mind budget. Because as awesome as it is to be flown off to Paris for dinner, um well lets be real. K? Dating Ideas10 NEXT date ideas 1. Picnic A Picnic is always nice. Plan around your weather and location. Relax, eat and enjoy! (Is ok to buy the food if you cannot/don’t have time to cook.) But always ask what the other person likes & be honest. Because you are going to be alone, in the woods (maybe) so better get something you want to eat. 2. The “I got tickets to …..” We do this a lot in Austin, because they are always so many new bands. Just pick a random club and go. Give it a try and see if the band is good. If not then you can always take a nighttime stroll & see the sights. 3. Art Gallery/Museum Great to see how he interacts it with the art. Because you can tell a lot about a person based on their comments. REALLY It’s ok if you don’t understand/like all the pieces. Art is subjective and it’s MADE to get you talking. :) 4. Sports Date If that’s your thing, (rolls eyes lol) some PEOPLE LOVE his kind of date. (Not my ideal…I don’t like to be sweaty and even with miniature golf I have the attention span of a 3 year old, so BORED and ready to go home now.) So know your partner and plan accordingly. 5. The ½ Dinner You make ½ and he prepares ½. Is ok to cheat and buy it. Just be honest about it. (To be honest I don’t usually cook until I am in a “relationship”. Why? Because well, I’m a good cook.) 6.MOVIE NIGHT with a twist
After things are going well and your comfy try this one. You bring your favorite all time DVD and he brings his. AND bring snacks that go with the movies themes. Be creative! Watch both movies and make sure you enjoy the snacks together. 7. Lets find it… I’m online all the time (big duh, right?) Always researching stuff it seems. So I always find quirky things/shops/cafés/places that way. (Also check 4-square, yelp!, etc. For different or new places in your area.) Make a list together of places you want to visit and mark them off together as you do. 8. Amusement Parks or Outside Festival. This can be fun and you can learn a lot about the other person too. Do they ride the awesome rides? Do they want to see the hockey shows or buy the expensive merchandize? Sometimes it’s just great fun to get away from everything and be a kid again. 9. Assorted Wow Dates that can easily GO WRONG: I’ve done the boat ride date (meh), the concert date; which is nice, but remember you cannot talk till it’s over. The beach trip (no pressure to look good in your suit WTF?), the SURPRISE we are going skydiving date. (Only good if the other person WANTS to do that) The exercise date, (Which was actually pretty cool) but you need to be at the same fitness level, plan accordingly. My current best date ever... 10. The Thunderstorm He calls me up @ 3:00 a.m. and says there is a thunderstorm approaching. "Want to watch it from my deck?" Meaning Its 3:00 am & I can't stop thinking about you & I want to share this with you. (Loved IT!) One of my BEST all time dates. :) But the most important thing: If you are with the RIGHT PERSON it really doesn’t matter much what you do. Happy dating & let me hear from you. :D “When it comes to men who are romantically interested in you, it’s really simple. Just ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do.” |
